Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Latrobe, PA

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a permanent position in Latrobe, PA. The role will involve working either the 2nd or 3rd shift.


  • Receive clear instructions on scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection tasks. Read and interpret prints and diagrams.

  • Thoroughly inspect mill equipment to identify any defects or issues such as misalignment, wear, or insufficient lubrication. Determine the most efficient way to carry out repairs to minimize production downtime. Advise on the need for immediate equipment shutdown to prevent further damage or when temporary operation is safe.

  • Conduct welding and cutting tasks to repair and maintain plant equipment, buildings, and tools.

  • Disassemble, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical equipment. Adjust equipment to ensure proper operating conditions. Undertake temporary or permanent repairs. Align gears, bearings, and shafts using press, sliding, and running fits. Operate basic machine tools such as drill press, pipe threader, and power saw. Erect scaffolds and perform simple rigging as necessary.

  • Change, set up, and adjust equipment according to production schedules.

  • Utilize high lift equipment in conjunction with mechanical repairs. Check and replenish fluid and L.P. gas levels as required. Report any maintenance needs. Operate high lift, radio-controlled floor-operated crane, or pickup truck.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work area.


  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance
  • Must meet company fall protection requirements
  • Hands-on experience with stick welding and cutting is essential. Proficiency in handling oxygen acetylene torches. Sound understanding of mechanical systems and basic knowledge of hydraulics.
