This food manufacturing facility is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead site maintenance and reliability operations. The company operates globally with a workforce of 160,000 employees across 70 countries, producing food products used by consumers worldwide. This role reports into plant operations leadership and oversees a team of maintenance professionals and supervisors at the Fargo facility.

Compensation
$130,000 to $160,000 annually, based on experience.
What You’ll Do
This role manages the maintenance of facility assets in accordance with applicable laws and procedures, working to maximize plant reliability and availability while controlling overall maintenance costs. The Maintenance Manager provides technical leadership and works closely with operations to integrate maintenance services into short and long term facility goals, and leads efforts to improve plant reliability and reduce both unscheduled interruptions and scheduled downtime through continuous improvement methods.
The role also implements and oversees maintenance and repair processes, applying best practices to make effective use of staff resources while maintaining environmental health and safety compliance with maintenance and inventory standards. This includes deploying a continuous improvement process built around identifying and closing performance gaps, conducting assessments, and following up on corrective actions to manage risk to personnel, equipment, and operations. The Maintenance Manager also builds and maintains a performance monitoring system focused on asset reliability, failure identification, and elimination, and reports on performance locally and regionally.
Additional responsibilities include developing a long term reliability plan to support facility improvement, tracking maintenance costs against reliability goals, and contributing to capital planning by preparing information for assigned capital projects and ensuring maintenance resources and equipment knowledge are transferred to project teams. This role also leads and develops a team of maintenance professionals and supervisors, including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary decisions, and collaborates with other managers and supervisors on staffing needs.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum of five years of related maintenance experience in a food manufacturing plant

Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing plant

Strong communication skills across multiple levels of the organization

Working knowledge of local and regional safety, health, and environmental regulations
Preferred Qualifications

Six Sigma Green Belt certification

Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification

Formal training in predictive maintenance technologies
