Maintenance Supervisor – 2nd shift

Maintenance Supervisor - Food Manufacturing

 

Ensure adherence to safety protocols, enhance the work environment, and establish best practices to support the company's safety initiatives.

Collaborate with the Food Safety/Quality and Operations teams to maintain facility and equipment compliance with regulatory and third-party audit requirements, as well as sanitary design standards.

Oversee a team of maintenance technicians to meet company volume and productivity goals by efficiently completing preventive maintenance tasks, effective troubleshooting, and repairing equipment failures. Conduct RFCA (Root Cause and Failure Analysis) as part of Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Provide guidance and instructions to maintenance personnel in responding to non-routine tasks to minimize downtime.

Offer training and resources to ensure compliance with plant Safety, Food Safety, Human Resources, and Workforce Development.

Maintain time and attendance records for direct reports. Collaborate with the Human Resources department on any necessary disciplinary actions.

Assist in implementing TPM and CMMS initiatives to enhance reliability and equipment uptime. Periodically review and update preventive maintenance routines based on OEM recommendations and failure analysis/performance metrics.

Coordinate maintenance and production activities to meet productivity targets.

Serve as the point of contact for the third-party sanitation team and support their needs in completing daily sanitation.

Utilize the plant work order system to plan and track maintenance activities and costs during production and non-production periods.

Support the maintenance manager in overseeing weekend projects and preventive maintenance with the internal maintenance team and external contractors/service providers.

Requirements

 

Basic Qualifications (Required):

5 to 10 years of experience in managing maintenance activities in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably in the food manufacturing/processing industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated expertise in supervising, planning, and scheduling hourly maintenance personnel.

Proficient in working with refrigeration systems, steam systems, and hot water generation systems.

Experience in utilizing computerized maintenance management systems to implement maintenance strategies.

Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical/fluid power systems related to food processing equipment.

Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing).

Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma or GED. Additional education and training in industrial technology or equivalent experience is preferred.

Ability to work in an on-call environment.
