Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) - 3rd Shift

This role involves utilizing theoretical and practical knowledge to perform laboratory procedures in a reference laboratory environment. You will follow procedures outlined in the manuals to ensure completion of assigned workload. The position may require reporting to a Laboratory Director, Manager, or Supervisor. Candidates may need to work overtime or callbacks as necessary.

This is a full-time position on the third shift. Depending on experience, the role may be filled as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) or a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
In this role, you will:
- Play a crucial role in the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
- Analyze, assess, and communicate testing results
- Identify when corrective measures are necessary and implement effective solutions
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
- Prioritize safety, compliance, and quality control
You need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science, coupled with 1 year of Medical Technology training
- 1 year of laboratory training or experience in performing high complexity testing
- Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
- Excellent reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
Bonus points if you have:
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in performing high complexity testing within specialized area
