Municipal Water & Wastewater Rainmaker - Account Manager
As an Account Director, your role will involve developing client relationships and driving business growth in the Georgia region. You will focus on marketing our services to various government entities, including federal, state, municipal, county, and water district/river authority clients. Collaborating with clients, you will identify and pursue new projects and opportunities. Additionally, you will lead strategic sales planning and coordinate with internal teams to ensure targeted approaches. This position will comprise 75% external sales and 25% internal sales responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships as the primary point of contact for clients
- Engage with clients through various channels, including email, social media, phone, and in-person meetings, to build and maintain effective relationships
- Conduct market research and remain aware of industry trends and business development opportunities
- Assist in implementing business development strategies to drive company growth
- Develop relationships with strategic and key client accounts
- Potentially fulfill client representative roles when necessary
- Coordinate and attend client events, meetings, appointments, and conferences
- Oversee the preparation of presentations for both internal teams and external clients
- Deliver business development presentations, such as lunch and learns, brown bags, and training sessions
- Possibly supervise the activities of Business Development staff members
- Execute the Strategic and Key Account Program to ensure success
- Collaborate with accounting to report financial metrics such as bookings
- Identify areas and processes for improvement and efficiency enhancement
- Represent the company in relevant industry professional organizations and take on community leadership roles as needed
- Develop effective teaming strategies to maximize market potential
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in sales and/or business development, totaling at least 12 years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, marketing, urban planning, engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven expertise in working with municipalities and local government entities
- Possess a seller-doer mindset, familiar with procurement processes, proposal writing, client advocacy, advanced business positioning, and relationship-building with decision-makers
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to handle challenging conversations and problem-solving situations
- Strong business acumen and understanding of alternative project delivery methods, such as Design-Build and Construction Manager at Risk
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with CRM system Cosential
