Must-Haves (Top Requirements)

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong client-facing communication and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

About the Role

We are hiring a Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead the execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing subcontractors, budgets, schedules, and daily operations while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will work closely with internal teams including preconstruction, finance, safety, and operations, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors.


Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction Phase

  • Review project scope, staffing needs, scheduling, and construction methods
  • Assist with bid packages, subcontractor selection, and cost reviews
  • Identify long-lead items and establish procurement priorities
  • Develop and refine project schedules and logistics plans
  • Lead constructability reviews with field and operations teams
  • Coordinate with Owners and Architects on project requirements and timelines
  • Establish billing procedures, submittal processes, and project controls
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors

Construction Phase

  • Manage day-to-day project operations, subcontractors, and schedules
  • Lead and facilitate progress meetings with clients and project teams
  • Monitor budget performance, cost tracking, and profitability
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation flow
  • Track project progress and develop recovery plans when needed
  • Review and approve subcontractor billings and vendor invoices
  • Maintain up-to-date drawings and project documentation
  • Enforce safety standards and company policies
  • Prepare and distribute weekly reports and meeting minutes

Closeout Phase

  • Coordinate final inspections and Certificate of Occupancy
  • Manage punch lists, warranty items, and project closeout documentation
  • Ensure completion of as-built drawings and O&M manuals
  • Oversee final billing, retainage, and subcontractor closeout
  • Conduct post-construction and warranty walkthroughs
