Employment Opportunity: Quality Control Supervisor

Job Overview

Summary:

The Quality Control Supervisor will report directly to the Quality and Food Safety Regional Manager for the Bakery Platform in Canada. This role involves collaborating with the Operations, Sales, Logistics, and Engineering/Maintenance departments to ensure that food safety and quality programs are adhered to, meeting or exceeding the company's and customers' standards.

The Quality Control Supervisor will oversee and develop the Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Develop, implement, and monitor HAACP/Preventive Control Plans and Food Safety and Quality programs

· Lead and manage all audits, including GFSI Certification BRC and customer audits

· Oversee activities related to Foreign Material Prevention

· Collaborate with various departments (Operations, Logistics, Production, Engineering/Maintenance) to ensure compliance with Food Safety and Quality programs

· Conduct internal audit program and present findings during daily and weekly meetings. Follow up on CAPAs to ensure resolution

· Continuously improve HACCP/Preventive Control Plans and Food Safety and Quality programs, aligning with the BRC Standard

Provide immediate feedback to the management team regarding food safety and quality issues

Serve as the main liaison with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors

Motivate and acknowledge employees to foster a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility

Handle customer/consumer complaints and provide updates to the management team during meetings

Act as the primary contact for all customer communications and requests

Inform the Regional Manager of QA and Food Safety for the Bakery Platform in Canada about any issues or concerns

Perform other assigned duties and projects

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications/Experience:

Possess a post-secondary education in food science, chemistry, or related fields

Have 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing

Hold 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Possess sound knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and GFSI principles and programs, with preference given to BRC and HACCP certification holders

Demonstrate excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and statistical software

Possess a good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control in an industrial setting

Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, handle multiple tasks, be self-motivated, and exhibit excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and information accuracy

Possess good written and verbal communication skills, with preference given to bilingual candidates

Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, fostering productive relationships based on credibility and trust with all plant employees

Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and work in a highly organized manner with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

Exhibit a good understanding of production procedures, both in the plant and office settings

Demonstrate proven leadership skills and the ability to develop teams
