Roadway Superintendent, Heavy Civil Highway

Richmond, VA area (Field-based, relocation available)

Run roadway, grading, drainage, and underground utility crews on highway projects, much of it VDOT work, for an established self-perform heavy civil contractor with a long runway of work across Virginia and North Carolina. Pay is $130K to $160K, and relocation to Central Virginia is available.

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway or underground utility experience at the superintendent or senior foreman level
• DOT roadway project experience
• Working knowledge of grading, storm drainage, utilities, and paving sequencing
• Solid understanding of work zone traffic control
• Able to read plans and specs and track quantities accurately
• Valid driver's license
• Based in the Richmond area or ready to relocate

What You'll Do

• Run daily field operations on roadway and utility projects
• Lead roadway, grading, drainage, and utility crews and their foremen
• Schedule subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries
• Plan the work and hold the schedule week to week
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks, and OSHA compliance
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures
• Work directly with VDOT inspectors and project engineers
• Track quantities and production and complete daily reports
