Our company, which is recognized as one of the leading civil contractors worldwide and specializes in Heavy Civil and Site Development projects, is seeking a Principal Project Engineer to join our team at Fayetteville, NC.

We are looking for someone with experience in medium to large heavy civil, roadway, and bridge projects with a value of $30 million or more.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Thoroughly reviewing the contract and specifications
• Providing assistance to the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, and Project Engineer as needed
• Contributing to schedule preparations and updates
• Assisting with quantity reporting, project costs, and forecasting
• Obtaining pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders
• Requisitioning equipment and material deliveries as required
• Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to address project challenges and conflicts
• Supporting monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing
• Managing document control, including submittal schedules, contract documents, and project record drawings
• Reviewing daily reports from Heavy Job for accuracy
• Preparing and maintaining a technical submittal list
• Ensuring compliance with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements, utility locations and adjustments, testing, and claims
• Issuing correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plans or specifications impact products or services
• Assisting with project closeout
• Completing additional assignments based on the Project Manager's direction

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering and Management (CEM)
• At least 5 years of experience in the civil construction field (both office and field roles)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Primavera 6
