Senior Automation Engineer (DeltaV)

Position Overview:

We're looking for a high-impact Senior Automation Engineer to lead automation strategy and execution across all North American manufacturing facilities. This role blends technical leadership with project management, ensuring that control systems are not only efficient and standardized but also cutting-edge, safe, and scalable.

You’ll spearhead the integration of advanced technologies like AI tools and machine learning while maintaining compliance with internal standards and regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, PSM, etc.). From DeltaV platform oversight to capital project leadership and OT cybersecurity, this is a senior-level position with cross-functional influence and enterprise-wide visibility.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Execute and evolve the corporate automation strategy in alignment with digital transformation goals

• Define and maintain control system standards, instrumentation specs, and cybersecurity protocols

• Lead the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of complex automation systems

• Champion robust, S88-compliant batch control solutions and train plant engineers on best practices

• Benchmark current systems against industry standards and best practices to identify gaps

• Optimize process control through loop tuning, alarm rationalization, and advanced control strategies

• Manage all phases of automation-related capital projects ($25K – $2M+), ensuring scope, budget, and quality adherence

• Develop and maintain control system lifecycle and obsolescence plans

• Integrate Aveva PI System across platforms and sites for data visibility and real-time analytics

• Work cross-functionally with vendors, engineers, and IT to maintain secure, scalable network architecture

• Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including PSM participation in HAZOPs and LOPAs

• Lead cybersecurity efforts within Operational Technology (OT), including network segmentation, access control, and incident response planning
