Job Title: Sr. Process Engineer

Location: Topeka, KS plant

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site (Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.)

In this role you will:

  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity within the Department area by eliminating defects, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and developing the skills of the operating teams.
  • Lead the Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification (CQV) process for new projects. Serve as the main point of contact and liaison between the engineering and operations teams, ensuring their full involvement throughout the project and a seamless transition to operations.
  • Promote a high-performance work culture by actively engaging with team members on the production floor, coaching them in problem-solving, decision-making, and fostering self-reliance.
  • Develop an extensive understanding of the manufacturing process, machinery, instrumentation, and product specifications of your assigned line/area. Provide technical support to the line/area teams.
  • Coach the operating teams and leadership in identifying and eliminating root causes of losses.
  • Implement and coach company Continuous Improvement methodologies to address performance gaps in the line/area. Cultivate a zero-loss culture.
  • Take ownership of a key element in safety and/or quality.
  • Participate in training and qualification programs for your designated line/area, including assessments, effective training delivery, and upholding consistent qualification standards.
  • Ensure data reliability for your designated line/area using our Proficy plant application software, including implementing improved methods for collecting accurate data.
  • Organize and prioritize initiatives to support the department's master plan and the long-term vision of the plant.
  • Keep the organization updated on relevant new technologies and ingredients.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical processes and systems
  • Proven use of formal problem-solving methodologies

Additional skills and experience that we believe would contribute to success in this role:

  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in technical problem-solving
