Sr. Project Engineer, Custom Automation Equipment

Location: Milwaukee, WI (relocation assistance available)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000 to $130,000 per year, plus bonus and profit sharing

Own custom automated machines from first concept to final build. The design work includes robotics, vision systems and high-speed assembly for major manufacturers.

Must-Haves

• BSME or similar degree with strong mechanical design skills
• 5+ years designing fully custom automated production equipment (not modifying standard products)
• SolidWorks
• Welding, fixture design and GD&T experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

What You’ll Do

• Lead the full design of custom automated machines, from concept to completion
• Work solo on smaller projects and lead design engineers and contractors on larger ones
• Break large projects into tasks, set milestones and hold the team accountable
• Design with robotics, vision, welding, fixtures, controls, material handling, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Manage project budgets and design release schedules
• Keep customers and management updated on project status
• Report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager

• Robotics, vision systems, controls or data acquisition experience
• Direct customer and supplier experience
• Experience leading a team or large project to a schedule

Compensation and Benefits
