Structural Engineer

As a Structural Design Engineer based in Hartsville, SC, you will be working under the guidance of the Associate Director of Engineering. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and create designs, plans, and specifications for engineering projects that involve the expansion, modification, or construction of new facilities. This will include tasks such as cost estimation, material and equipment selection, construction management, and equipment installation. You will also be responsible for overseeing project budgets and schedules, as well as conducting on-site inspections to ensure compliance with the design.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating designs, specifications, and cost estimates for various civil and structural projects across multiple locations in the US, Canada, and Mexico. This will involve designing the structural foundations for facilities and heavy industrial equipment.
  • Providing project and on-site construction management to ensure project requirements are met. You will need to have a deep understanding of current industrial facility construction practices and possess technical expertise in structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and wood.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. You will need to effectively communicate technical information, deliver presentations, interact with customers, collaborate with teammates, and demonstrate leadership capabilities.

This position is located in Hartsville, SC.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • A PE license
  • A comprehensive understanding of heavy industrial facility construction practices and the ability to apply structural analysis and design principles to steel, concrete, and wood.
  • Strong competencies in technical written communication, oral presentation, customer interaction, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Experience in project and construction management
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Physical fitness to work in confined spaces, as well as willingness to work in a dirty, hot, and humid environment (Paper Mill).
  • The ability to climb ladders and work at heights without fear.
