Superintendent - Civil Construction
Sarasota, FL (Gulf Coast Projects)

We are partnering with a well-established Sarasota-based general contractor to hire a Superintendent - Civil Construction to lead site development and infrastructure projects across the Gulf Coast. This role is field-focused and responsible for driving projects from mobilization through closeout with a strong emphasis on safety, schedule, and quality.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on civil/site development projects
• Strong experience with roadway construction, underground utilities (water, sewer, storm), and subdivision infrastructure
• Proven ability to manage grading, earthwork, drainage, paving, and curb & gutter operations
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, profiles, and utility drawings and resolve field conflicts
• Experience coordinating with municipalities, DOT, and utility companies
• Proficiency with Procore or similar project management software
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage subcontractors and field crews effectively
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in the Sarasota / Manatee County area

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations for civil/site projects including roadway, utilities, grading, drainage, paving, and subdivision infrastructure
• Develop and manage 3-week look-ahead schedules and daily work plans
• Oversee installation of underground utilities, earthwork, and paving operations
• Coordinate with municipalities, inspectors, and utility providers for permits, inspections, and tie-ins
• Direct subcontractors and crews; lead daily huddles and coordination meetings
• Enforce safety standards, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain OSHA compliance
• Track quantities, maintain daily reports, and manage as-builts and inspection records
• Partner with Project Managers on scheduling, procurement, cost impacts, and change orders
• Support project closeout including final inspections, punch lists, and turnover documentation
• Represent the company professionally with owners, engineers, and public agencies

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification
