Tax Manager

We are seeking a qualified Tax Controller to join our team in Marietta, OH. As the Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing client assignments and projects, ensuring a high-quality service delivery. Additionally, you will assist with managing office operations and staff, client service activities, quality, reporting, and production revenue budget and forecasting. Working in collaboration with the Senior Manager/ Principal, you will focus on maximizing performance and staff development, providing coaching and support to meet client and self-development expectations. Compliance with all firm and staff policies and procedures is expected.

Supervisory and Leadership Focus:

-Demonstrate effective and respectful leadership by planning appropriate staffing levels, conducting interviews and hiring, providing orientations and training, setting performance expectations, giving feedback, recognizing achievements, offering coaching and counseling, and creating career growth opportunities and development plans for associates.

-Understand and assess associates' skillsets and capabilities, monitoring and reviewing their work product, and providing coaching notes throughout the process.

Firm Focus:

-Participate in non-billable Firm activities as requested.

-Influence peers and subordinates in a positive manner that aligns with the Firm's core values.

-Contribute to and show interest in Firm's ongoing initiatives.

-Understand and embrace Gallup Strengths as part of the team/organization.

-Identify budget issues, suggest ways to improve assignment profitability, and assist in billings and collections.

Client Service:

-Act as the Tax client service coordinator for assigned clients.

-Provide comprehensive advice on corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and general business activities, to clients.

-Manage clients' tax service needs and federal/state tax compliance.

Business Development:

-Promote the Firm to clients, business associates, and the community through various events.

-Gain a comprehensive understanding of our lines of business and services, and identify opportunities to introduce clients to other areas of our firm.

-Stay informed about potential opportunities for new clients and additional services for existing clients, and communicate them to the firm's owners.

-Proactively identify opportunities to offer additional service lines to clients.


-In-depth knowledge of U.S. accounting standards (cash, tax, and accrual basis)

-Proficiency in accounting and financial reporting skills.

-Proficiency in computer software programs and technology used by the Firm.

-Stay up to date on FASB and IRC regulations.

-Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
