Vice President of Operations

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish and develop the strategic plan, policies, and procedures for manufacturing operations
  • Create specific objectives for operational performance indicators on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Implement initiatives, systems, and processes to foster a culture of continuous improvement using Systems
  • Manage the budget and expenses for operations and sub-functions
  • Supervise supply chain and manufacturing activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements

Leadership and People Development

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of supply chain and operational strategies to enhance all functions using Systems
  • Assist the leadership team in Safety, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities Management tasks
  • Oversee equipment, supplies, and service procurement to comply with regulations and accounting procedures
  • Identify, recommend, and implement goals and objectives in line with the company's mission, vision, and values
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance based on the seven core principles of the Leadership Model
  • Maintain regular communication and provide feedback to the operations team and managers
  • Cultivate a team-oriented manufacturing environment focused on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Optimize resource allocation and operations planning for maximum utilization of resources
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train members of the operations management team

Safety, Plant Production, Environmental Services, Maintenance and Engineering KPI's

  • Ensure daily compliance with safety procedures, standard operating procedures, GMP's, and standard work
  • Establish productivity measures for each process area and analyze production variance reports to address operational and maintenance issues, optimizing costs and minimizing delays
  • Uphold standards for product quality, equipment performance, and operator efficiency while incorporating cost-effective technology

Process and Product Improvement

  • Support operations in implementing process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and continuously evaluate all aspects of operations to control costs
  • Evaluate the feasibility of new products and product enhancements for serial production
  • Stay informed about the latest automation equipment relevant to the industry
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with other departments within the organization

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management and/or a Science Degree in a related field
  • Have at least 15 years of experience in lean manufacturing and transformation, with measurable achievements in operational performance and people development (Lean Certification is a plus)
  • Possess a minimum of 15 years of experience leading complex processes, particularly in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, product development, or related enterprise functions
  • Demonstrate Process Engineering experience in a GMP production or pharmaceutical setting
  • Show extensive knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, with proficiency in lean tools and techniques (e.g., Value Stream Analysis, TPM, Strategy Development/Deployment)
  • Exhibit excellent leadership skills, including the ability to influence, coach, and teach effectively
  • Display strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the capability to communicate effectively with senior management, hourly associates, and external partners
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proven track record as a strategic leader and executor of plans
  • Thorough understanding of business processes and their implementation
  • Familiarity with performance reporting and KPI management
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to challenge conventional thinking
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Extensive experience in optimizing manufacturing and improving velocity and flow across business processes
  • Aptitude for working both independently and as part of a team
  • Dedicated, accountable, and result-driven with a sense of urgency
  • Proficiency in personal computer applications such as Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
