Project Manager – Commercial & Industrial Construction

A growing regional general contractor with over 30 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their expanding team in Tampa, FL. This role offers an entrepreneurial opportunity to lead projects from award to closeout, manage budgets and schedules, and build lasting client relationships.

Must Haves

• Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial construction project management experience

• Experience managing ground-up projects such as grocery stores (e.g., Publix) or big-box retail (e.g., Target)

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and project execution

• Experience negotiating with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors

• Ability to manage RFI, submittals, and change order processes

• Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field preferred

Position Overview

The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. Acting as a key leader on-site and in the office, this role combines project management, client relations, and collaboration with preconstruction, estimating, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preconstruction and estimating to develop competitive project budgets

• Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors

• Collaborate with field staff to ensure successful project execution

• Create and maintain detailed project schedules

• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation

• Build and maintain strong client relationships for future business opportunities
