Building Automation Project Manager

Lancaster, PA | Full-Time | Salary plus Bonus

A Lancaster-based building automation systems integrator with an active project pipeline across Pennsylvania and nationally is hiring a Project Manager to lead commercial and institutional projects from award through closeout. The company serves clients in Fortune 500 corporate, state government, higher education, data center, healthcare, and large industrial sectors. This is a business-side PM role focused on client relationships, subcontractor management, budgeting, scheduling, and financial forecasting rather than hands-on field work.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, standard business hours. Specific schedule details to be confirmed with the hiring manager.

Compensation

$100,000 - $145,000 Per Year. Salary commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus.

What You'll Do

As Project Manager, you will own the full project lifecycle for building automation system installations and upgrades across a diverse client portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities center on client communication and relationship management, keeping stakeholders informed on scope, schedule, and budget status throughout each project.

You will plan and manage project timelines, coordinate subcontractors and internal technicians, and ensure work is sequenced and resourced appropriately. Financial oversight is a core part of the role: you will develop project budgets, track costs against forecast, flag variances early, and report project financial performance to leadership.

On the people side, you will direct field technicians and trade subcontractors, resolve scheduling conflicts, and work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and service teams as projects require. The company's vertical diversity means your portfolio will span campus, government, healthcare, data center, and industrial environments, and you will be expected to adapt client communication style accordingly.

Required Qualifications

• 3 or more years of project management experience in building automation, building controls, or a closely related mechanical or electrical systems trade
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor scopes
• Experience serving as the primary client-facing contact on projects from award through closeout
• Proficiency with project scheduling and financial tracking tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing projects in two or more of the following verticals: Fortune 500 corporate, state government, higher education, data center, healthcare, or heavy industrial
• Familiarity with BAS or HVAC controls platforms (Niagara, Metasys, Tridium, Siemens, or similar)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
• Experience with cross-training across service, commissioning, or sales functions within a controls or systems integration environment
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
