Engineering Manager, Proprietary Product Design

Full time, onsite. Occasional travel (approximately 15% or less) for trade shows and on site customer technical support.

Compensation: $110,000 to $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience and team management history.

This Engineering Manager role leads product design, development, and testing for a proprietary product line at a privately held manufacturing company known for its engineering driven culture and reputation for quality. This is a hands on leadership role, combining direct design work with managing a small engineering team, and reports directly to company leadership.

The Engineering Manager owns end to end product design, R&D, and testing for the proprietary product line, from concept through launch, and serves as the technical point of contact between sales, customers, and manufacturing on custom configurations and applications. This role manages and mentors a small engineering team, with plans to grow the team based on this person's input, and supports ERP processes including BOM accuracy, drawing control, and inventory data used by purchasing. The position requires balancing multiple concurrent projects rather than working single, long duration assignments, and operates with a high degree of autonomy, bringing solutions independently rather than relying on close day to day supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical or related)
• Strong, current, hands on proficiency in SOLIDWORKS
• Track record of hands on product design work combined with managing or mentoring other engineers
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
• Self directed work style, comfortable operating with minimal day to day supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Meaningful product design and project leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting ERP driven processes such as BOM management and drawing control
• Experience serving as a technical liaison between engineering, sales, and customers
