HVAC Project Manager

Job Summary:

This position involves estimating mechanical work for our Mechanical Contractor Client, contributing to their success by producing high-quality and competitive estimates for mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing projects in a constantly changing economic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Attend meetings before bidding or reviewing team scope to fully understand the required scope of work, even with limited information. Carefully review all project bid documents. Identify, notify, and provide bid information to subcontractors and vendors for outsourcing quotations. Complete estimates using computerized on-screen estimating within specified deadlines. Collaborate with other estimators, company divisions, and departments as a team. Compile and finalize estimates by the given deadline and participate in team reviews with management on bid day. Assess subcontractor and vendor bids for completeness in terms of the scope of work, schedule adherence, compliance with specifications, and other bid requirements. Conduct value engineering analysis to prioritize the customer's best interest. Develop a narrative for the scope of work. Support field operations with the estimate after the bid is awarded. Meet proposal due date schedules. Demonstrate the ability to produce estimates with minimal information. Maintain focus on customer satisfaction while also paying attention to details.

Requirements Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical estimating, specifically in industrial, HVAC, and/or plumbing estimating. Skilled in estimating process piping. Thorough knowledge of estimating for both Design-Build and plan spec projects. Proficient in using spreadsheets and computerized on-screen takeoff programs. Capable of producing accurate, timely, and competitive estimates with limited data. Ability to anticipate the requirements and cost components of Design-Build projects. Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners. Familiarity with HVAC, industrial, and plumbing piping systems. Experience in both design-build and plan spec projects. Preferred: 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial, HVAC, and/or plumbing estimating. Skilled in estimating process piping.
