HVAC Project Manager

HVAC Project Manager

Boston, MA · Full-Time

A family-owned mechanical contractor based in Greater Boston is hiring an HVAC Project Manager to run commercial, life science, and hospitality projects from preconstruction through closeout. The company has operated for more than two decades with a stable core team, a Local 537 workforce, and an in-house fabrication facility. In this role you manage your own jobs with real autonomy, and compensation is tied directly to how your projects perform.

Schedule Full-time. Confirm specific weekday hours and any job-site visit requirements with the employer.

Compensation Base salary plus performance-based compensation tied to project outcomes. See note below, as no pay range was provided in the original posting.

What You'll Do You will manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout across the commercial, life science, and hospitality sectors. This includes coordinating with BIM and fabrication teams to keep design aligned with field execution, and leading owner and subcontractor meetings while managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

You will track budget, schedule, and labor across multiple active projects at once, and maintain client relationships from project award through the warranty period. The role carries genuine ownership: rather than routing decisions through a layer of senior PMs, you are accountable for the execution and financial outcome of each job you run.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of project management experience with a mechanical contractor
  • Direct background in HVAC installation or piping
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and own the financial outcome of each
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, budgets, and schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Greater Boston construction market
  • Experience working with union labor (Local 537 or similar)
  • Experience in life science or hospitality mechanical construction
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and in-house fabrication workflows

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary plus performance-based compensation tied to project performance
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off

Benefit specifics should be confirmed with the employer.
