This is an on-site role with an apparel and textile company based in New York, NY. The Import Coordinator will manage the full import lifecycle from booking through delivery, working closely with overseas suppliers, freight partners, and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely movement of goods.
Schedule Monday through Friday, on-site five days per week.

What You'll Do
The Import Coordinator is responsible for managing the end-to-end import process across the apparel and textile product line. This includes booking shipments, coordinating with international suppliers, and tracking cargo from origin through final delivery. You will prepare and review all required import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance at each stage of the process.
You will work directly with customs brokers and freight carriers to ensure goods are properly classified and accurately valued in accordance with applicable import regulations. Negotiating competitive freight rates and resolving shipment issues as they arise will be a regular part of the role. You will also manage and maintain vendor relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for supplier communication and issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in import coordination or a closely related logistics role
- Background in the apparel or textile industry
- Hands-on experience with import documentation, customs compliance, and freight coordination
- Familiarity with HTS classification and customs valuation requirements
- Ability to negotiate freight rates with carriers and forwarders
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple open shipments simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international suppliers across Asia or other major sourcing regions
- Familiarity with trade compliance regulations including CBP requirements
- Experience using a trade management system or logistics platform (such as GT Nexus, CargoWise, or similar)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, international business, or a related field
