Lead Electrical Engineer (PE)
Job description:
Our client, an international electrical equipment manufacturer specializing in power distribution, is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer (PE) to join their team in Greenville, SC.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze customer specifications, RFQs, and technical documents for compliance with high-voltage cicuit breakers
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC) and identify deviations or exceptions
- Recommend product configurations and technical solutions to meet customer requirements
- Review and markup electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
- Support technical discussions during sales and bidding processes
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production to resolve technical issues and ensure project execution
- Support product development, testing, and certification (incl. third-party labs such as CESI/KEMA)
- Drive continuous improvement in compliance processes and documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (PE license)
- 5+ years of experience in power systems or switchgear industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical transmission, distribution, and substation equipment
- Experience reviewing technical specifications and identifying compliance issues
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Preferred: experience with vacuum circuit breakers (38kV145kV), testing/validation, and AutoCAD Electrical
