A civil engineering consultancy based in Easton, Pennsylvania seeks a municipal design engineer with site civil experience to support public and private infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania. The firm works with municipal clients on stormwater management, infrastructure rehabilitation, subdivision and land development review, and permitting. This position involves technical design work, regulatory documentation, and plan review in support of senior engineers and project managers.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, based out of the Easton, Pennsylvania office.
Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 Per Year
What You'll Do
Your design work will center on municipal and site civil projects, including stormwater management systems, detention basin layout, and infrastructure rehabilitation. You will develop engineering drawings and technical documents that meet state and local design standards, and will prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, and permit application packages for submission to state and municipal agencies. Familiarity with Pennsylvania DEP and local municipal permitting processes is applied regularly in this role.
A meaningful portion of your work involves plan review. You will review subdivision and land development plans submitted by developers on behalf of municipal clients, evaluating compliance with local ordinances covering subdivision and land development regulations, zoning, grading, and stormwater management. You will support construction administration tasks and escrow tracking as project phases require, working under the direction of senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in site civil or municipal engineering design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for municipal project applications
- Familiarity with stormwater management, detention basin design, and infrastructure rehabilitation
- Experience with state and municipal permitting processes
- Strong attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or actively in progress toward EIT
- Experience performing municipal plan review for subdivision or land development applications
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania DEP Chapter 102 and Chapter 105 permitting requirements
- Exposure to construction administration or escrow tracking on municipal projects
- Interest in developing client-facing or project management responsibilities over time
