Manufacturing Quote Engineer, CNC Machine Shop

Full time, first shift, onsite.

Compensation: $110,000 to $130,000 per year

This Manufacturing Quote Engineer role determines manufacturing steps, equipment requirements, programming needs, setup operations, materials, and labor required to complete work in a job shop machining environment. This position calculates production costs using labor, raw material, and processing price estimates, and prepares formal price and delivery quotations for management and customers.

The Quote Engineer communicates directly with customers on proposals, quotations, and projects, and assists in preparing work instructions for new and revised projects. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, working effectively and efficiently with limited day to day supervision. The position frequently involves moving between the office and machine shop to gather information, working at a computer for extended periods on research, documentation, and quoting, and communicating regularly with managers, technical staff, and coworkers.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of machine shop estimating or quoting experience on medium to high complexity parts

• Quoting experience specifically with CNC mill and lathe operations in a job shop environment

• Extensive experience reading, analyzing, and understanding technical specifications, drawings, bills of material, material and process specifications, and quality documentation

• Extensive knowledge of tooling required for specific applications

• Experience with the planning and manufacturing modules of an ERP system

• Extensive experience with machining of different material types

• Knowledge of practical use of inspection and measurement tools for part dimensions

• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
