Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Orangeburg, SC

This position involves the planning and development of intricate manufacturing processes within an industrial facility. As the principal manufacturing engineer, you will take full ownership of the technical aspects involved in engineering support for various manufacturing operations, such as assembly, welding, metal forming, machining, and material handling.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert guidance in the design, modification, fabrication, and evaluation of manufacturing operations.
  • Conceiving and overseeing projects that involve significant production activities, addressing product and process challenges, and exploring new concepts and approaches in manufacturing operations.
  • Conducting independent technical investigations by applying complex technical principles.
  • Evaluating test and production data, preparing technical analysis, and recommending manufacturing methods and processes to achieve design objectives for new or improved products and processes.
  • Coordinating complex technical matters related to assembly drawing interpretation, engineering change notices, rework, manufacturing difficulties, and specifications.
  • Collaborating with other technical support personnel.
  • Assigning work to drafters, technicians, technical writers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel, as required.
  • Providing work leadership to lower-level employees.

This role requires full on-site presence.

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in the practical application of engineering science and technology is necessary.
  • Experience using analytical and CAD software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models is essential.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design is required.
