Tax Supervisor - Public Accounting

Location: Flexible (On-site or Hybrid Schedule Available)

Our client, a respected public accounting and consulting firm, is seeking a Tax Supervisor to join their growing team. As a Tax Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing tax engagements, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-quality tax advisory and compliance services. This role is ideal for professionals who are technically skilled, client-focused, and eager to take on increased responsibility within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical:

  • Review various tax returns and supporting workpapers, including corporate, partnership, and individual returns

  • Prepare complex corporate and partnership tax returns

  • Serve as a technical resource for tax staff and interns

  • Perform basic to advanced tax research and apply findings to client matters

  • Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and service providers to deliver comprehensive tax planning across individual, corporate, partnership, and trust clients

  • Review and respond to federal, state, and local tax notices

Supervisory & Leadership:

  • Delegate work assignments to tax staff and interns, ensuring clarity in expectations

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate performance of junior team members

  • Participate in administrative and strategic projects within the tax department and firm-wide

  • Serve as the primary contact for select client engagements

  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment across departments

  • Assist in training and development of firm personnel

  • Develop professional relationships through networking, prospecting, and community engagement

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on taxation

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation from an accredited institution

  • Active CPA license
