Compensation: $134,000 – $171,000 base (DOE)
Must-Haves
- 10+ years of commercial construction experience across preconstruction, estimating, project management, or operations
- Proven ability to lead GMP and lump sum bid efforts for complex building projects
- Strong expertise in cost planning, budgeting, and estimating coordination
- Experience managing client relationships and leading owner/design team interactions
- Deep understanding of construction documents, contracts, materials, and means & methods
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Experience with BIM/VDC, Lean construction, or Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
- Strong knowledge of the regional construction market and trade partner landscape
About the Role
Join a highly respected national general contractor with a strong footprint in the Rocky Mountain region. This role is a key leadership position within preconstruction, responsible for driving strategy, cost planning, and client-facing deliverables on complex commercial building projects.
This is an on-site role in the Denver area, offering the opportunity to influence projects from early concept through final GMP while working closely with operations, clients, and design teams.
What You’ll Do
- Lead preconstruction efforts including GMPs, lump sum bids, budgets, and milestone estimates
- Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact during preconstruction
- Coordinate with operations, estimating, procurement, and project teams to align scope, schedule, and logistics
- Oversee constructability reviews, value engineering, and target value design
- Develop and manage project assumptions, scope narratives, and cost strategies
- Lead preconstruction meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders
- Analyze and communicate cost variances and design development impacts
- Implement quality control processes for estimates and deliverables
- Drive process improvements using BIM/VDC, Lean, and collaborative planning tools
- Manage preconstruction budgets, reporting, and financial tracking
- Mentor and develop preconstruction and estimating team members
