Field Service Technician (NETA II/III/IV or Equivalent Experience)
Location: Denver, CO

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• 2–8+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience
• Experience testing and troubleshooting medium and/or high-voltage equipment
• Strong understanding of power distribution systems
• Familiarity with NETA standards and NFPA 70E
• Experience using electrical test equipment such as Megger, Doble, Omicron, SEL, or similar
• Ability to interpret test results and generate detailed field service reports
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Willingness to travel as needed for projects (travel flexibility preferred but not a strict requirement)

ROLE OVERVIEW

A nationally recognized leader in electrical power services is seeking experienced Field Service Technicians (Level II–IV) to perform acceptance testing, maintenance testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support on medium- and high-voltage electrical systems across utility, industrial, and data center environments.

This is a field-based opportunity for technicians who are safety-focused, technically skilled, and capable of operating independently in demanding electrical environments. Compensation and placement level will align with certification status and field experience.

NETA and NICET EPT certifications are preferred, but strong hands-on apparatus testing experience will also be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Testing & Technical Services

• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing in accordance with NETA standards
• Test and troubleshoot:
  • LV/MV Switchgear
  • Power Transformers
  • Circuit Breakers
  • Protective Relays and Protection Systems
• Execute LOTO procedures and maintain compliance with NFPA 70E
• Conduct arc-flash and shock hazard evaluations as required

Reporting & Documentation

• Analyze test results and identify equipment deficiencies
• Generate comprehensive field service reports and documentation
• Communicate findings and project updates to clients and management teams

Team & Leadership

• Support or lead field crews depending on certification level and experience
• Mentor junior technicians and trainees when applicable

Leadership Expectations by Level

• Level II: Performs testing under supervision while building technical skills
• Level III: Independently leads smaller crews and project scopes
• Level IV: Lead technician / subject matter expert with client-facing responsibilities and full project ownership

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 2–8+ years of electrical testing experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems
• Familiarity with NETA standards and electrical safety procedures
• Ability to travel up to 50% depending on project needs
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass background and drug screening

CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates with any of the following are encouraged to apply:

• NETA Level II, III, or IV
• NICET EPT Level II, III, or IV
• Equivalent field experience in apparatus testing and commissioning

Certification is preferred but not required for qualified candidates with strong testing backgrounds.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• OSHA 30
• CPR / First Aid certifications
• PowerDB experience
• OEM testing equipment experience including Megger, Doble, Omicron, SEL, or similar platforms

• Candidates open to occasional travel are strongly preferred, though travel flexibility is not considered a strict requirement for all assignments
