Mechanical Designer

Location: Englewood, CO

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our structural/mechanical engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for CAD modelling and drafting for bulk material handling systems, following established drafting protocols.

Salary:

We offer a competitive salary of 80-120K, along with an exceptional benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Create intricate drawings in both 2D and 3D formats, ensuring they meet client specifications
  2. Prepare and interpret scale drawings, schematic drawings, layouts, and other visual aids
  3. Collect information and generate drawings for specific projects, review the accuracy of drawings, make revisions and updates as necessary, and prepare drawings for approval and fabrication
  4. Analyze and interpret technical reports and specifications
  5. Apply knowledge of industry standards and offer valuable suggestions and feedback on drawings to improve drafting development and problem-solving
  6. Support design efforts by performing detailed dimensional calculations to verify configurations and layouts
  7. Ensure timely completion of projects and meet quality goals
  8. Collaborate with clients and vendors to achieve project objectives
  9. Maintain clear communication with Supervisors, Managers, and Engineers regarding project operations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by a two-year vocational/technical degree in CAD operations
  • Nine to Ten years of experience using AutoCAD
  • Five to Six years of experience in material handling systems, including conveyors and automation systems

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Fluency in multiple languages, such as Spanish or German, is a plus

COMPUTER SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Proficiency in drawing software, including AutoCAD, Advance Steel, SolidWorks, and Inventor
