Assistant Program Director

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our team as an Associate Program Director for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. This full-time position will be based in Newport Beach, CA and will report to the Director of the program. As the Associate Program Director, you will play a crucial role in the development, coordination, and monitoring of our nursing faculty and vocational nursing students. We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills, creative and critical thinking abilities, and the capability to gather, analyze, and apply data. Key Responsibilities:
· Contribute to the achievement of the university’s and program’s mission and objectives by evaluating student learning outcomes.
· Oversee faculty recruitment, qualifications, development, and evaluation, in alignment with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
· Provide leadership to the faculty in the development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of the program’s curriculum plan, following shared governance and institutional and accreditation guidelines.
· Manage the day-to-day operation of the program, including student advising and supervision of direct-care clinical education.
· Monitor, assess, and implement strategies utilizing ATI resources to enhance NCLEX performance and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
· Ensure compliance of all program publications with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
· Facilitate communication, reporting, and engagement with accreditation commissions and agencies.


  • Hold a master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university, with coursework in nursing, education, or administration;
  • Have at least two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure registered nursing programs;
  • Possess a minimum of one year of continuous, full-time or equivalent direct patient care experience as a registered nurse;
  • Background in higher education at the college level is preferred;
  • Must have a valid and active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN);
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills;
  • Show an action-oriented and innovative thinking mindset, with flexibility in approach;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required;
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work within a deadline-driven environment is essential.
