Key Account Manager - Urology Diagnostics

Baltimore, MD | Full time

This role is with a biotechnology company focused on prostate cancer diagnostics, developing a urine based liquid biopsy designed to help physicians reduce unnecessary prostate biopsies. The Key Account Manager will lead business development efforts across an assigned territory, building relationships with urologists, primary care physicians, and healthcare facilities to drive adoption of the company's diagnostic test.

Schedule
Full time, field based role with up to 50% travel within the assigned territory.

Compensation
$230,000 to $250,000 per year

What You'll Do
The Key Account Manager will manage day to day sales operations within a designated territory, applying scientific and clinical knowledge throughout the sales process to support physicians and healthcare facilities. This person will work closely with the national sales team, CLIA lab scientists, marketing, and executive leadership to align territory strategy with company goals, and will develop territory forecasts and report on performance trends. The role includes responding to customer and partner inquiries with practical solutions, identifying process improvements that support efficiency and customer satisfaction, and partnering with lab operations on event launches and workflow improvements. Because the role involves handling patient health information, HIPAA and PHI training is required upon hire. This position also involves physically delivering MPS test kits to physician offices as part of routine territory support, and requires accurate management of the territory's travel and expense budget.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 to 10 years of experience selling to physician offices and healthcare networks
  • Experience in Urology or Diagnostics sales
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Experience building relationships with senior healthcare professionals, including negotiation and influence skills across all organizational levels
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to lift and physically deliver MPS test kits to physician offices
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying performance trends and improvement opportunities
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across clinical lab, marketing, and sales functions
  • Background in oncology or genomic diagnostics
  • Experience forecasting sales performance at the individual account or physician level
