An established, mission-driven senior healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking a collaborative, clinically skilled Daytime RN Desk Nurse/Assistant Unit Manager to partner directly with the Lead Unit Manager in driving unit operations. In this dual clinical-administrative leadership role, you will work side-by-side with the Lead Unit Manager to oversee daily care delivery, clinical documentation, physician order processing, and unit workflows across designated resident units. This role is well suited to an experienced long-term care RN looking for a structured, Monday through Friday daytime management opportunity.

Schedule: Full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday.

Compensation: $110,000 to $112,000 per year, based on clinical background and leadership experience.

What You'll Do:

The RN Desk Nurse works alongside the Lead Unit Manager to coordinate daily unit operations, shift reports, and clinical nursing workflows across two assigned units, reviewing, processing, and reconciling physician orders, lab results, diagnostic reports, and pharmacy profiles to ensure rapid, accurate clinical execution. This role functions as a primary liaison between attending physicians, interdisciplinary therapy teams, families, and floor nursing staff to align resident care plans.

The role assists with comprehensive resident clinical assessments, care planning updates, routine family updates, and hospital discharge preparation, and models clinical standards while providing ongoing coaching, documentation support, and daily guidance to floor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. The RN Desk Nurse maintains EMR documentation standards in compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health regulations and internal facility QAPI benchmarks.

Required Qualifications:

• Current, active, and unrestricted Connecticut RN license
• 2 to 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting, including supervisory, charge nurse, desk nurse, or unit management experience
• Exceptional administrative multitasking abilities, order reconciliation skills, and detail orientation
• High proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems for care planning, order entries, and audit compliance
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, facility leadership, nursing teams, and resident families

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PointClickCare EMR system

Compensation and Benefits:

• $110,000 to $112,000 per year, based on experience
