On-Site Technical Support Specialist

Fremont, CA

As a technical support specialist, you will be responsible for providing on-site service for medical laboratory equipment, specifically in the fields of hematology, chemistry, and coagulation, for a leading manufacturer of medical laboratory analyzers. Previous experience in field service within the medical device industry is preferred. You will be working with automated robotic lab instrumentation. To qualify for this position, you must currently reside in the GREATER Fremont or San Jose, CA area, as this job does not offer relocation. Additionally, you should possess strong troubleshooting skills in electronics and electro-mechanical systems.


  • Base salary ranging from $65K to $75K depending on experience (overtime and performance bonus can add an additional $6K to $10K annually, potentially more)

  • Install, service, and perform preventive maintenance on lab instrumentation
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relationships
  • Coordinate problem resolution within the Field Support Group
  • Manage inventory, including tools and parts
  • Provide on-site training on the operation of company instrumentation


  • Preferred: Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or related discipline
  • Proficient in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting
  • Willingness to travel overnight
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a field service engineer
  • Bonus: Experience servicing medical lab analyzers or other medical instrumentation
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required
