A well-established specialty contracting and manufacturing organization serving high-end residential and commercial projects is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to independently manage day-to-day financial operations, including payroll. This is a hands-on, full-scope position reporting directly to the CEO, owning the books end to end.

Schedule
Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on-site.

Compensation
$85,000 to $105,000 per year, based on experience.

What You'll Do
The Full Charge Bookkeeper manages full cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank and credit card reconciliations. This person processes weekly payroll for all employees, including tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefit deductions, and produces monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, while managing month end close.

This role manages vendor relationships and invoicing, including AIA billing and pay applications where applicable, and tracks job costing across active projects in coordination with project management. The Full Charge Bookkeeper maintains compliance records, including certificates of insurance, workers' compensation, and sales tax filings, supports the CEO and outside CPA with year end tax preparation and audits, and maintains accurate, organized financial records and strong internal controls.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of Full Charge Bookkeeping experience within construction or contracting
  • Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel
  • High degree of accuracy, discretion, and follow-through, with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on payroll experience using Paycom or a similar payroll system, having processed payroll for 90 or more employees
  • Willingness to leverage AI and automation tools to streamline accounting, payroll, and administrative processes
  • Notary Public certification
  • Bilingual

Compensation and Benefits

  • $85,000 to $105,000 per year
  • Health insurance, with the company contributing 50% of the employee only premium
  • 2 weeks PTO plus a 1 week company shutdown
