General Facility Manager – Spindle Repair

The organization is seeking a Facility Manager to oversee all functions of its service facility, supervising Repair Technicians and coordinating with the Midwest Service Center to balance workload across locations. Compensation

$90,000 to $110,000 per year, based on experience.

What You’ll Do

The Facility Manager oversees and directs all functions of the service facility, supervising and mentoring Repair Technicians as direct reports and coordinating with the Midwest Service Center to route repairs to whichever facility can complete them most efficiently. This role supports Sales with technical expertise, cost estimates, and scheduling guidance, and provides input on spindle failure causes and potential design or process improvements.

This person reviews and finalizes spindle evaluation reports, determining repair costs for both purchased components and labor to formulate customer quotes, and schedules and assigns spindle repairs to technicians based on their experience and proficiency. The role also includes reviewing and evaluating Final Repair Reports to confirm that repairs meet standards and that each spindle will perform reliably for the customer.

Required Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of super precision rolling element bearing application in high speed rotating equipment
• Mechanical or electromechanical background capable of performing engineering calculations related to rotating equipment machine elements
• Proficiency in super precision rolling element bearing engineering and application
• Experience in bearing and mechanical component failure analysis
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in machine tool service, machining, or grinding
• Experience supervising or mentoring technical staff
• Background in customer facing technical support or sales engineering
