Project Engineer – Roadway
Job Title: Project Engineer
Overview:
Our company is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to assist Project Managers in managing one or multiple infrastructure projects. This position involves overseeing various project aspects such as budgeting, cost tracking, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, field construction activities, and subcontractor coordination. The Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and operational support to field operations throughout all project phases.
- Review and develop project submittals and RFIs prior to owner submission.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to address project requirements, field conditions, and design changes by analyzing project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure the delivery of high-quality project deliverables in a safe and timely manner.
- Monitor project progress, quantities, and assist with cost control and payment processes.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule to ensure accurate timelines and activity sequences.
- Aid in the design and preparation of temporary works, including falsework, formwork, and shoring.
- Manage the procurement process and ensure materials are delivered according to project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications and quality standards for all work and documentation.
- Create comprehensive work plans to promote safety, efficiency, and project success.
- Review and analyze shop drawings, as-builts, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in construction fields related to Department of Transportation (DOT) projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), BlueBeam, and CAD. Familiarity with P6 and HCSS is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
