Project Manager – Architect
Location: Topeka, KS


Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect (RA) required
  • 8+ years of architectural experience, including 2+ years leading projects or teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong experience across the full project lifecycle (design through construction closeout)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and PDF markup tools like Bluebeam
  • Experience with design and documentation tools such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Photoshop

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Architect to lead projects from concept through construction closeout. This role is responsible for driving schedules, budgets, quality, and communication while ensuring design intent is successfully executed. You’ll serve as the primary client contact, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and mentor emerging professionals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire project lifecycle, including planning, design development, construction documents, bidding, construction administration, and closeout
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget, including forecasting fees, tracking milestones, and mitigating risks
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring clear communication and exceptional client experience
  • Coordinate architects, designers, and consultants (structural, MEP, civil) to ensure design integrity and technical accuracy
  • Support contracts, proposals, and business development efforts
  • Oversee QA/QC reviews, code compliance, and permitting documentation
  • Lead construction administration, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, site visits, and punch lists
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and records
  • Mentor and manage team members, fostering a collaborative and accountable environment
  • Continuously improve processes and adapt to evolving project needs

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of architectural design, documentation, and construction processes
  • Experience with project management tools, BIM/CAD software, and financial tracking
  • Solid understanding of risk management, stakeholder management, and cost control
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and best practices
