Senior Field Engineer

Senior Field Engineer (Construction)

We’re seeking a Senior Field Engineer to support field operations and ensure seamless communication between construction activities and project controls. This role plays a key part in accurately executing project plans and maintaining alignment with project specifications. Reporting to the Project Engineer, the Senior Field Engineer will collaborate closely with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Travel is required for this position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in estimate turnover meetings and assist in transitioning the estimate into a controlled project budget

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and manage quantities throughout the project lifecycle

  • Coordinate, review, and track submittals and procurement schedules

  • Attend and contribute to daily and weekly safety meetings

  • Schedule materials and subcontractors to align with field crew needs

  • Support and coordinate work with superintendents and foremen, helping to ensure proper execution

  • Monitor and report quantity and cost metrics to aid in project tracking and decision-making

  • Assist in pricing and tracking change orders

  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in document control processes

  • Liaise between the project team, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers

  • Keep an up-to-date set of project drawings and specifications

  • Assist with project close-out activities and preparation of As-Built drawings

  • Contribute to accurate final cost reports and payment application data

  • Take on miscellaneous project support tasks as needed


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be eligible for airport security clearance

  • 3–5 years of recent experience in heavy highway, road, or bridge construction

  • Proven track record supporting medium to large projects ($10M+)

  • Hands-on experience with multiple heavy civil disciplines

  • Familiarity with Hard Dollar and SAP systems is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Willingness to travel as required
