A foodservice distribution company is hiring a VP of Purchasing to lead inventory procurement, vendor negotiations, and department leadership. This role serves on the senior leadership team, reports to the President, and directs procurement operations, performance metrics, expense and revenue management, sales support, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Full-time.

Compensation
$140,000 to $160,000 per year.

What You'll Do
This leader manages all aspects of inventory procurement, vendor negotiations, and department leadership, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. The role maintains optimal inventory levels to support financial performance and cash flow, negotiates pricing and supplier programs, manages proprietary stock dispositions, and upholds service-level standards. This VP serves as a primary point of contact for key accounts and suppliers, and leads process improvement initiatives to maximize departmental efficiency. The role oversees secondary operational units such as internal logistics and freight control, and specialized merchandising teams as assigned. This position directs all marketing functions, including trade shows, promotional events, digital campaigns, sales incentives, product launches, and catalogs, while maximizing supplier financial participation. The VP also leads strategic bid analyses for major accounts and collaborates with sales specialists, category managers, culinary professionals, and brand development leads to grow private-label and exclusive product lines.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in inventory procurement, vendor negotiation, and supplier program management
• Experience leading and developing a department team, including hiring and performance management
• Experience managing marketing functions including trade shows, promotional events, and product launches
• Experience with strategic bid analysis for major accounts
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in foodservice distribution or a related industry
• Experience developing private-label or exclusive product lines
• Familiarity with freight and logistics management

Compensation and Benefits

• $140,000 to $160,000 per year
