The Logistics Site Manager oversees day to day operations at a busy transportation and logistics site, managing inventory accuracy, dispatch coordination, and customer service performance. This role works closely with corporate leadership, customers, carrier partners, and internal teams to keep transportation operations running efficiently and ensure timely delivery execution. The Logistics Site Manager is accountable for safety compliance, KPI performance, and supporting profitability through strong resource management and process improvement.

Full time, on site at the Plymouth, MI facility.

Compensation
$75,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience.

What You'll Do
The Logistics Site Manager ensures customer service level agreements are met and negotiates competitive carrier rates to keep transportation costs efficient. This person proactively resolves customer and delivery issues to keep freight moving on time, and builds strong working relationships with carriers, customers, and vendors to support reliable, consistent communication. The role includes responding to emergency situations, maintaining a strong safety culture, and reporting on inventory, budget, revenue, and operational risk to corporate leadership.

Day to day, the Logistics Site Manager manages supervisory staff and dispatch personnel, balancing cost and service quality to maintain strong partnerships. This includes keeping inventory visibility accurate by ensuring inbound and outbound vehicle statuses are updated promptly, coordinating pickups and deliveries with dispatch, staging vehicles in advance to reduce dwell time, and monitoring daily performance metrics. The Logistics Site Manager tracks active and scheduled orders to prevent bottlenecks, communicates delays proactively, and drives operational consistency through corrective action and root cause analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or fleet operations
  • Experience coordinating carriers, drivers, dispatch operations, and customer communications
  • Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), inventory systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing operational performance metrics and implementing process improvements
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance within transportation or logistics operations
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting operational deadlines and service expectations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Experience managing budgets, operational costs, and profitability targets
  • Knowledge of carrier management and freight rate negotiation
  • Automotive transportation or vehicle logistics experience
