NDT Level II Technician

A company supporting advanced aerospace and Submarine Industrial Base weldments is hiring a hands-on, detail-oriented NAS-410 NDT Level II Technician, qualified in Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT), Wet Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), or Contact Ultrasonic Testing (UT). This role collaborates with the Responsible/Method Level III and other technical personnel to build and maintain a compliant NDT program aligned with NADCAP, NAVSEA, ASNT, customer, and industry requirements.

Schedule
Full-time, onsite.

Compensation
$65,000 to $75,000 per year.

What You'll Do
Within each method for which they are certified, this technician sets up, calibrates, and standardizes NDT equipment, and processes and inspects components in accordance with approved procedures and applicable standards. The role interprets and evaluates inspection results for acceptance or rejection, accurately documents inspection findings, and maintains required quality records. This position conducts system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards, and understands the scope and limitations of the applicable NDT method and inspection technique. The technician provides guidance, training, and supervision to trainees and Level I personnel, maintains familiarity with governing codes, specifications, and standards, and develops work instructions from approved general procedures, submitting them for final approval by a Level III certified in the applicable method. This role collaborates with the Responsible/Method Level III to establish and maintain the organization's NDT program, supports compliance with NADCAP, NAVSEA, ASNT, customer, and quality-system requirements, and maintains a safe, organized, and compliant work environment while working collaboratively with engineering, welding, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Required Qualifications

• Current or previously documented NAS-410 Level II qualification or certification in Fluorescent PT, Wet Fluorescent MT, or Contact UT
• Demonstrated knowledge of NDT equipment setup, calibration, processing, interpretation, evaluation, and documentation
• Working knowledge of relevant NDT codes, specifications, procedures, and acceptance criteria
• Basic knowledge of product manufacturing processes, weldments, materials, and inspection technology
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy
• Ability to follow safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an onsite environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a Jaeger J-1 visual acuity examination and any applicable color-perception requirements
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
• U.S. citizenship, required to meet applicable U.S. defense program and contractual requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in nondestructive testing, welding, materials science, or a related discipline
• Experience inspecting aerospace, defense, naval, or Submarine Industrial Base components
• Experience with advanced or critical weldments
• Familiarity with NADCAP, NAVSEA, and ASNT requirements
• Experience developing an NDT program or supporting a program from its initial stages
• Experience training, administering, or qualifying NDT personnel
• Qualification in multiple NDT methods

Compensation and Benefits

• $65,000 to $75,000 per year
