Continuous Improvement Manager 3
A Continuous Improvement Manager position is currently available in Accomac, VA. This role will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Model, driving measurable outcomes through facilitation and leadership. The main focus will be on engaging and empowering team members to identify, understand, and implement sustainable process enhancements. Collaborating with operations and functional management, the supervisor will utilize systematic problem-solving techniques such as Root Cause Analysis, Kaizens, Loss Analysis, and DMAIC methodology to eradicate losses. The primary objectives of this position include:
- Leading the organization in data-based decision making through the utilization of Lean, Six Sigma techniques, and CI tools
- Driving behavioral change across the site by implementing CI tools, methodology, and coaching techniques to achieve measurable improvements
- Managing Site Improvement Projects, including project plan development, result tracking, and providing guidance to site leaders throughout the project execution process
- Conducting effective Continuous Improvement training programs to enhance team capability and awareness of CI tools
- Implementing, supporting, and coaching the site Manufacturing Operating System (MOS), which involves Tier meetings, KPI development and tracking, and standard work
- Facilitating Kaizen and 90-Day Improvement events to address systemic problems through the formation and leadership of empowered teams
- Developing and implementing a communication plan to communicate process improvement efforts within the plant
- Serving as a subject matter expert for CI Methodology, CI Tools, and the implementation of Daily Process controls to drive operational improvements
- Participating in the development and execution of the Company's CI Strategy
- Timely communication, tracking, and reporting on project progress, results, and deviations to key stakeholders
- Organizing regular meetings with stakeholders to share project status updates and define next steps for sustainable SQDCSM improvements
- Effectively managing Site CI Manager 1
- Coaching and mentoring CI Ambassadors and CI Manager 1
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Operations, Logistics, Food Science, Animal Science, or Supply Chain, along with 7-10 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or Operations
- Extensive knowledge of operations processes, specifically in poultry processing
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to support other CI Initiatives
- Ability to diagnose site losses and consistently deliver breakthrough financial results
- Strong understanding of LEAN principles, Problem Solving Tools (RCA, DMAIC), Six Sigma, TQM, TPM, and SPC
- Exceptional teamwork skills combined with the ability to contribute individually
- Proven ability to promote and drive change
- Proficiency in O365 Tools (Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel)
- Flexible availability to support all shifts (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) on Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Preferred experience with Power Apps/BI and Minitab
- Bilingual proficiency
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
