- Location: Waverly, NY (Southern Tier region of New York State).
- The Speech-Language Pathologist will contribute to the health and well-being of residents by assessing and creating treatment plans for speech-language therapy, conducting audiometric screenings, and coordinating audiology services. This position is dedicated to delivering high-quality care to our residents.

Responsibilities:
1. Conduct screenings and evaluations to identify communication issues and develop therapy plans.
2. Coordinate audiometric screenings and refer for further evaluation or treatment when necessary.
3. Initiate speech-language therapy plans based on physician's orders and maintain communication with the physician throughout the treatment program.
4. Respectfully and kindly treat residents while observing their rights.
5. Keep written records of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for residents in the speech-language treatment program.
6. Collaborate with other staff to integrate speech-language treatment with other disciplines' goals and approaches.
7. Attend meetings related to resident care planning and review of care plans for residents in the speech-language treatment program.
8. Maintain records including statistical reports, in-service education information, budget information, and inventory of materials and equipment.
9. Submit statistical reports for billing payments and complete assessment forms as required.
10. Attend staff meetings and participate in in-service training sessions.
11. Assist in developing and conducting in-service training programs for facility personnel involved in resident care.
12. Review and update speech-language policies and procedures as needed.
13. Manage program costs within the budget.
14. Follow safety rules and practices to ensure the safety of staff, residents, and visitors.
15. Generate ideas to improve resident care and increase productivity and satisfaction.
16. Meet service excellence standards and goals set for the position and the facility.
17. Provide the highest level of customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.
18. Complete other duties assigned by supervisor, management staff, or Administrator.
Qualifications:
• Hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school.
• Possess a valid New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mature, diplomatic, and able to work well with others.
• Verification of qualifications by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Rehabilitation Therapies (license number/certification number) required.
• Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence.
