Controller – Solar / Renewable Energy – Remote

Must-Haves:

• CPA credential
• 6+ years in renewable energy
• Tax equity and M&A transaction experience
• Experience setting up accounting for project companies, SPEs, and LLCs
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

The Role

We’re looking for a Controller with solar experience. This role can be remote. You’ll own audit, JV entity management, payroll, accounts payable, and overall accounting and financial reporting, reporting directly to the CEO with room to grow into a broader leadership role.

What You’ll Do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple legal entities
• Prepare consolidated and standalone financial statements under U.S. GAAP for corporate, holding, and development entities
• Own financial reporting for leadership, lenders, investors, and the Board, including board materials and investor packages
• Manage cash flow planning and liquidity, including 13-week and 12-month forecasts
• Oversee treasury activities, including wire and ACH approvals
• Handle complex accounting analyses: HLBV, depreciation/amortization, revenue recognition, Safe Harbor allocations
• Direct payroll accounting and compliance, including W-2 and 1099 reporting
• Serve as primary liaison for external audit, tax compliance, and insurance
• Maintain and improve internal controls and close processes
• Track investor capital activity and support partnership/ownership reporting

Compensation & Benefits
$160k-$185k base + bonus + equity, 401(k), medical insurance, PTO, stock options
