Electrical Panel Assembly Technician - Control Panels

Manchester, CT | $55,000 to $65,000 per year | Full-time

A manufacturer in Manchester, Connecticut is hiring an Electrical Panel Assembly Technician to build and wire electrical control panels. The role covers laying out and mounting components, wiring panels from schematics and wiring diagrams, and inspecting finished work before testing. It's a hands-on, full-time role for someone with panel building or electromechanical assembly experience.

Schedule

Full-time, on-site in Manchester, CT.

Compensation

$55,000 to $65,000 per year, based on experience.

What You'll Do

You will build electrical control panels from schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials. You will measure, drill, tap, and cut enclosures and back panels, then lay out and mount components such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, transformers, PLCs, and terminal blocks.

You will route, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires according to electrical schematics and point-to-point wiring diagrams, following proper wire routing and color coding. You will apply wire markers, component tags, and terminal labels according to engineering documents.

Before panels move to testing, you will inspect your work for wiring accuracy, component placement, and structural integrity. You will keep your work area organized and follow site safety and PPE requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of electrical panel building, electromechanical assembly, or related electrical trade experience
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials
• Experience with wire strippers, crimpers, drills, taps, and other hand and power tools
• Experience with wire routing, color coding, and component layout
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks that require fine motor skills, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical training in electrical or electronics
• Experience building UL 508A industrial control panels
• Working knowledge of NFPA 79 or the NEC
• Soldering experience to IPC standards
• Experience wiring PLC-based control systems
