HR Director, Community Banking

Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings or weekends

Shape the people strategy behind a growing community bank as its HR Director, reporting directly to the President and CEO.

Must-Haves

• 7+ years of progressive HR experience across employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, and compliance
• Experience in a role such as HR Director, HR Manager, or HR Business Partner
• Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities as a department of one
• Hands-on HR generalist skills, from policy development to payroll integration
• Ability to travel frequently to branch locations and occasionally overnight for conferences

What You'll Do

• Own all core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, and policy
• Advise managers and senior leadership on hiring, performance, discipline, and terminations
• Coach employees on performance, conduct, and workplace concerns
• Administer benefits programs, including enrollment, broker and vendor coordination, and payroll integration
• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings to reference checks and applicant tracking
• Lead EEO and affirmative action compliance, including planning and reporting
• Administer FMLA and PTO programs and coordinate with payroll and timekeeping
• Maintain confidential personnel files, job descriptions, and the employee uniform program
• Partner with outside legal counsel on compliance and employment matters
• Complete required BSA/AML training and uphold internal compliance policies

Nice-to-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification, or actively pursuing one
• Banking or financial services HR experience
