An established healthcare system in Northwest Indiana is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurosurgeon to join its growing, physician-led group practice. Located in the Greater Chicagoland area, roughly 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, this role combines a high volume surgical practice with state of the art hospital infrastructure and a HIMSS Stage VII environment, including full EPIC EHR integration with AI assisted documentation. The physician will work alongside a team of neurosurgeons, neurologists, orthopedists, and dedicated surgical support staff within a financially strong health system supporting subspecialty focus and long term practice goals.
Schedule
Full time, permanent position based in Hobart, IN. Includes participation in an equitable, shared neurosurgery call rotation.
Compensation
$800,000 to $900,000 per year. Base salary is negotiable and aligned with current MGMA benchmarks, paired with a wRVU productivity bonus structure. A negotiable sign on bonus is also available. Final compensation is based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
What You'll Do
This physician provides comprehensive cranial and complex or general spine neurosurgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and surgical suite settings, including clinical evaluations, patient workups, and elective and emergent neurosurgical procedures. The role includes participation in an equitable, shared neurosurgery call rotation and use of advanced surgical technology, intraoperative imaging, and the EPIC EHR system with AI driven documentation tools.
The physician collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team including neurologists, orthopedic spine surgeons, pain management specialists, and critical care teams, and contributes to continuous quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and patient care pathways.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited US medical school or recognized international equivalent
- Completion of an ACGME accredited Neurological Surgery residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery
- Active and unrestricted Indiana medical license, or eligible for Indiana state licensure within 90 to 120 days
- Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain one
- Demonstrated high clinical and surgical competency in general neurosurgery
Preferred Qualifications
- Subspecialty fellowship training in spine, vascular, skull base, or neuro-oncology
- Experience working within an EPIC EHR environment
- Experience collaborating within an interdisciplinary neurosurgical care team
