Initiate skilled occupational therapy treatments as per physician's instructions; maintain necessary communication with the physician.

Keep written evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries for residents in the occupational therapy program.

Consult with other healthcare staff regarding specialized needs of residents to enhance rehabilitation or function maintenance.

Provide input during Resident Care Planning meetings and attend in the absence of the Director of Occupational Therapy.

Maintain statistical records of residents' treatments.

Assist in conducting in-service training programs upon request.

Record and update care plans for residents.

Completion of an approved occupational therapy school is required.

State license for practicing occupational therapy is mandatory.

Preferably two years' experience in occupational therapy.

Interest in geriatric and subacute populations' occupational therapy treatment programs utilizing a team approach.

Ability to effectively lead others is necessary.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others are essential traits.

Sense of responsibility and ability to work well with residents, families, and colleagues.

Ability to interact with geriatric and chronically ill residents and professionals in a friendly and helpful manner is necessary.

Efficiently perform tasks to meet established standards of excellence.
