Main Function:
- Design and implement tailored treatment programs for individual patients following the principles and practices of occupational therapy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality services to inpatients, outpatients, residents of ALC and Skilled Nursing Facility. Report directly to the Clinical Coordinator of Rehabilitative Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical:
1. Evaluate patients' specific needs and develop appropriate treatment plans to achieve measurable occupational therapy goals, as authorized by physicians.
- Conduct assessments for wheelchairs, splints, positioning, and ADL equipment.
- Create orthotic assistive and splinting devices as necessary.
- Prepare accurate written documentation, including evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports, and other required reports.
- Maintain open communication with the patient's physician regarding their care and progress.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care plans.
- Provide guidance and direction to assigned staff members assisting in patient care.
- Deliver appropriate education, training, and guidance to patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Assist in maintaining department equipment and supplies.
- Contribute to the development and standardization of new occupational therapy services and products when necessary.
Education, Institutional and Community Involvement, Other:
- Offer in-service educational opportunities for healthcare staff, physicians, and others as needed.
- Take individual responsibility for continuous education that addresses professional and personal learning needs.
- Participate in relevant health and departmental committees.
- Exhibit a professional image, attitudes, and behaviors consistent with the philosophy of the profession and the healthcare organization.
- Attend all annual mandatory education programs as required for the position.
- Provide age-appropriate care for neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Prioritize customer/patient needs and demonstrate friendly and caring interactions, attentiveness, and proactive communication to ensure a secure and positive experience.

Education:
- Must possess a license, or be eligible to obtain a license, to practice occupational therapy in NYS upon hiring.
Experience:
- Prior experience with pediatric outpatient services is preferred.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire date.
