Physical Therapist - Acute Care
Elmira, NY | $70,000 to $100,000 per year plus sign-on bonus

A premier health organization in the Finger Lakes region of New York is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation care, working with a collaborative multidisciplinary team to support patients through their recovery. This is a direct hire, full-time position with flexible scheduling that includes weekend coverage.

Schedule
Full-time, flexible schedule with no overnight shifts. Weekend hours are required, paid at 25% above the employee's base rate for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Compensation
$70,000 to $100,000 per year, based on experience, plus a $15,000 sign-on bonus and certification pay for relevant credentials.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will conduct initial evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, administering therapeutic treatments including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound, heat and ice therapy, and electrical stimulation. You will educate patients on exercise programs, posture correction, and injury prevention to support long-term recovery, and you will collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. You will monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to meet rehabilitation goals, and document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with departmental policies and industry standards. You will care for patients with orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in line with infection control and safety guidelines. This role requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance, along with frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving patients during treatment sessions.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
• Valid Physical Therapist license in New York State, or eligibility to obtain one at time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a physical therapy clinical setting
• Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, or musculoskeletal conditions
