Project Manager
Location: Great Falls, MT
Position: Project Lead
Reports To: Division Manager
Position Overview: Responsible for organizing, coordinating, and overseeing multiple industrial construction projects at various locations up to $10M in value. Collaborates with craft supervision to manage workers involved in the construction process, utilizing knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage industrial construction projects from inception to completion in industries such as energy, power, mining, manufacturing, and pharma
- Recruit, lead, and manage teams of employees, including Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Superintendent, and Foreman
- Supervise daily work activities of employees
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and verify the quality of finished work
- Maintain adherence to safety and environmental regulations
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources to ensure efficient project completion
- Enforce company safety and work rules and policies among team members
- Provide necessary training for employees to operate machinery
- Assign work and monitor job costs and performance
- Prepare written reports on job progress, costs, and other relevant matters
- Support on-the-job training and monitor job site safety and quality
- Collaborate with operations to identify new opportunities for the company
- Review and provide feedback on project schedules
- Create cost-based estimates for RFPs
- Perform any other assigned duties
Skills/Qualifications:
- Preferably possess an Engineering or Construction Management Degree
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in constructing industrial projects
- At least 4 years of experience as a Project Manager in any field
- Familiarity with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing software
- Proficiency in P6 or similar scheduling software
- Experience with Viewpoint or similar accounting software
- Knowledge of Heavy Bid or similar estimating software
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
- Completed OSHA or equivalent safety training
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Potential Hazards:
- Frequent exposure to outdoor environment
- Possible exposure to extreme temperatures
- Work in manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environments
- Potential to work in confined spaces
- Limited working surfaces
- Occasional use of X-ray machines
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and strong odors
- Occasional working in areas with limited visibility
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, as well as work on elevated platforms
- Lift equipment and materials weighing 1-50 pounds
- Frequent walking on uneven terrain
- Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, and kneel
- Potential use of a respirator if necessary
- Driving if required for travel
- If driving is needed, a valid driver's license and proof of insurability are necessary
